As the night begins
A storm rages within
He suffers from inside
For he had seen it all
And he will surely fall
Of love betrayed
His heart now slain
In torture bound
As the sun goes down
His thoughts had turned to dread
Those letters he had read
He curses god in rage
For he had seen it all
And he will surely fall
Of trust betrayed
And lust depraved
The rage now binds
His thoughts in time
The pain had bled
Eternal dread
This rotting tomb
His mind consumed
His will now lost
He shall pay the cost
For their lust he'll fall
As their sin's enthrall
As he gazes high
At the stormy sky
"I am fallen" he cries
As voices arise...
To the god's he gazed
As his sorrow forces way
"By the coming of dawn,
I shall be none."
Walter!
You shall fear no more!
Martyr!
You shall reclaim your throne!
As night begins to fade
Their words he hath obeyed
With god now by his side
For he shall heed their call
And they will surely fall
Yes, she will surely fall.

A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson

Beautiful isn't an adjective normally usable for black metal, but here we are. I swear I didn't cry at The Beauty of the Withering Flower...... Seriously though, this is amazingly atmospheric, awesome, and sad throughout this journey of an album. jojobinx

Jordan Vauvert
