I still recall the moment we met,
When the night was silent and cold,
Gorgeous darkness bore the sweet pale flower,
That in my arms I would hold.
And at once this Goddess of Crimson,
Alight by the Ominous moon,
Would seal with a kiss the fate of our lives,
And hail the coming of my lovers, doom.
As seasons went by the knowledge that I
Was deceived by my brother and bride,
Would bring forth great visions of nightmarish lands,
Where foul truths had no place to hide.
A dream of my flower, turned white then to red
Visions of pasts so clear in my head,
And as if been arranged, by some hellish way
The Answer was laid before me.
The lies, of my,
Beloved, and My kin,
Will drive, my life,
to commit this act of sin.
Tonight, We die,
For you, are mine.
And so I set out for my answer,
The poison to snuff out my bride,
So darkness would come to her, Silent and Swift
And extinguish the light in her Emerald eyes.
But inside me I knew there was something,
Amiss in this, unholy plan.
So true was our bond, how could this be so,
Was her soul, so certainly damned?
My flower, my life, will you die with me tonight?
Together, Forever, Forgive me, My bride.
The madness, has taken
Hold of me, Of my mind
In Darkness, I see you but
My Loving eyes are Blind,
So take this, drink quickly,
This death infested wine,
And know that I loved you
My Flower, My bride
Kiss me once more my love,
Let me hold you close,
Don't be afraid my dear,
The cold will stop your tears.
Sleep in my arms my love,
Forever with you I will be,
Beneath the Crimson Moon,
I swear my life to thee.
And so I sit and ponder in the dwelling of my kin,
If anything should happen if I were again to sin,
So soon now, dear brother, will your eyes arouse with fright
For these are your final hours,
For you will die,
tonight.

A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson

Beautiful isn't an adjective normally usable for black metal, but here we are. I swear I didn't cry at The Beauty of the Withering Flower...... Seriously though, this is amazingly atmospheric, awesome, and sad throughout this journey of an album. jojobinx

Jordan Vauvert
